Meredith Pardue in Memorial

Remember that home in Memorial we've been working on?

Well, we've been working on the dining room and one of the finishing touches was the installation of this beautiful painting by Meredith Pardue. The Laura Rathe Gallery represents Meredith's work here in Houston (go visit her gallery!) and Laura herself is simply wonderful at finding us the most perfect pieces for our spaces.

To create an interesting focal point, Julie had antique mirror panels installed in this niche.
The painting is suspension hung just in front of the mirror.
Isn't that a nice layering effect? We'll post some more photos once the home is complete.

Happy Holidays in Pink and Silver

We finished a home in Fulshear earlier this year and were delighted to see the homeowner incorporate the color scheme into her holiday decor. The home has a palette of silver, cream, greys, and icy blues with a punch of blush pink. The translation into Christmas decoration was beautiful!

Long table for a party, dressed with cream and blush linens.
That Christmas tree is gorgeous too!

I love how everything sparkles!

This photo shows a little more context with the silver drapery panels and the cream furniture. Hopefully, we will get out there to photograph the home for a blog house tour!
It's one of my favorite homes we've done!

We hope this inspires you to think outside the box with your Christmas decor!

Parisian Chic Townhouse

We are busily working on several projects this week, but I wanted to stop by and show these images of a French Townhouse we finished up in early May. We had it photographed this summer and only recently got the beautiful images. If this space doesn't make you want to take a a quick trip to Paris, I don't know what will!

Dining Room
This client had us design their home out in the country a few years ago and just recently puchased second home, this 3-story townhouse, in the heart of Montrose. They love antiques and the wife favors everything French! The first step was to plaster these walls in a beautiful cream and grey-blue plaster. The baby blue silk draperies were the next piece of the puzzle as well as installing many sparkling sconces and chandeliers from antique shops all over (some even from Round Top!).

Dining Room
The Dining Table is skirted in a beautiful pink, blue, and gold Fortuny Fabric - how utterly Parisian!

Living Room

Aren't the blue silk draperies lovely?

Living Room
The Fadini Borghi sculpted velvet sofa fabric is so rich in person. The antique side chairs were reupholstered in a blue and cream striped velvet by Nancy Corzine. Some old slipper chairs were re-designed by Julie and Brian at the Joseph Company and reupholstered in a cream linen with pink Fortuny banding at the hem- so pretty!

Beautiful Memorial Living Room

Pardon the iPhone photos, but I just had to show this beautiful living room! Aren't those coral drapes gorgeous?! They really turned out well!

We reupholstered the client's old sofa and had the wooden frame refinished. The fabric is from Duralee, the pillow fabric is Etamine, and the geometric rug from Creative Flooring.

The Joseph Company did all our upholstery work. Didn't they do a great job?

Such a great coffee table!

The room isn't done- we are having some floating shelves made to flank either side of the fireplace and then commissioning some artwork to go above.

Contemporary Design in River Oaks

The River Oaks home is finally complete, accessorized, and photographed! We are very proud of this project- Julie did an amazing job designing this home!

Segreto Finishes did this unique wall finish (no, it's not wallpaper!) for us. Our client chose a dining room table from Cantoni at the beginning of the project, which set the stage for the dark finishes for the custom dining chairs, made by David Longwood of Designer Furniture Manufacturers, and the curved buffet piece by David Solano. The grey upholstered buffet cabinet is by The Joseph Company, the gilded Asian chairs from Mexoc, and most artwork is from the Laura Rathe gallery.

Julie did the floral designs and accessorizing herself. Isn't that Meredith Pardue painting just perfect? The punches of bright colors is exactly what we were looking for in the silvery, blush-y pink room.

Segreto did the powder bath finish.

The Formal Living Room carries the same color story of silvers, bronzes, and blushy pinks but in a much more formal way.

This is one of the little girl's bedrooms. We did the bed out of an indoor/outdoor textured velvet so it would be super durable. Aren't those curved nightstands so cute?

This is one of the boys' bedrooms. We gave him some masculine fabrics, but still luxurious draperies and bedding. The concrete lamps from Vieux and the grey washed oak nightstands lend to that masculine feel as well.

The Master Bedroom is calm and luxe, with a palette of dark chocolate browns, creams, and powder blues.

The Family Room, always the workhorse of public spaces, has custom indoor/outdoor velvet sofas. This way, when the kids get come inside (the sliding glass doors to the right lead in directly from the swimming pool), there's no worry about ruining any fabrics. The cream patterned upholstered chairs on the left are also an indoor/outdoor fabric, although you'd never suspect it- they are so stylish!

Here is a view of the accessorized bookshelves (which I did as my very first attempt at accessorizing!). Most pieces are from Tara Shaw antiques.

This is the alternate view of the Family Room. So much seating, even for this large family!

The study is dark and moody with definitively masculine furnishings- the perfect man cave.

Thanks for looking through these photos with us!
We hope you enjoyed this mini home-tour of this recent project.

Spring Elegance

Happy Spring to everyone! The season is officially here, although it is beginning to feel like summer here in Houston! We've posted a few photos from a previous project that feel rather spring-y!

Leslie Sinclair blogged about our project and I thought we'd repost some of our favorite photos, which coincidentally feel like spring to me. Florals, accessories, and artwork by Twins Design.
